News!

Hello faithful followers,

What a journey the last few months have been! I didn't realize how much I missed blogging until I sat down to type these words. It is not so much the fact that I believe my life is exceptionally worthy of being written down but more so me being back to recounting what I am passionate about in life -- living and working overseas. With that said, many changes are about to happen.

Upon returning to the United States the beginning of March, my life has been here, there, and everywhere: traveling to Europe for a potential employer's training and orientation; flying to FL to see life-long friends; spending several days praying and meditating on the direction of my life; teaching myself French; enjoying special moments with my niece in NY; and visiting my sister in Portland.

My original plan and heart's desire was to return to Madagascar. That however is not going to be a reality at this point. I have accepted a Accounting/HR Management position with Medair in north east Democratic Republic of Congo and will be signing a 1yr contract. Pending my visa, the plan is to go to Switzerland the beginning of June and then directly to Congo after that.

I have wanted to work in Congo for many years and I am amazed at how God has brought this to fruition at this point in my life and career. In addition, I will be doing French tutoring prior to the start of my position. I am excited to have this opportunity to really focus and develop my French speaking skills, especially after trying to teach myself the last 2 months. This will be an invaluable tool for my future.

Per these changes in my career, life, and location the content of this blog might be changing as well. In an effort to stay safe in a potentially dangerous environment the content of what is written will reflect those precautions.

Thank you for following my Madagascar adventure and I can't wait to share my life with you from the Congo!
